Hello and Welcome!

Please understand that this website is not affiliated with the Prince Matchabelli Company any way, it is only a reference page for collectors and those who have enjoyed the classic fragrances of days gone by.

The main objective of this website is to chronicle the history of the Prince Matchabelli fragrances and showcase the bottles and advertising used throughout the years.

However, one of the other goals of this website is to show the present owners of the Prince Matchabelli perfume company how much we miss the discontinued classics and hopefully, if they see that there is enough interest and demand, they will bring back these fragrances!

Please leave a comment below (for example: of why you liked the fragrance, describe the scent, time period or age you wore it, who gave it to you or what occasion, any specific memories, what it reminded you of, maybe a relative wore it, or you remembered seeing the bottle on their vanity table), who knows, perhaps someone from the current Prince Matchabelli brand might see it.

Also, this website is a labor of love, it is a work in progress and is always being updated with new information as I can find it, so check back often!

  1. Prince Matchabelli also had a short-lived fragrance in the late 1960s and early 1970s called Wicker. It was for women, and it was sold as a cologne splash and spray. I have seen vintage newspaper ads dated between early 1969 and late 1972, so this may roughly correspond to the years of production.

An example of an early ad is at

I have a splash bottle. To me, it smells like a cross between a masculine fougere and a feminine chypre. There is an oily, rich floral smell and some green, herbal notes.

    1. It has recently been reissued and is being produced only in Saudi Arabia. It has a propellant which I think may be one of the ones banned in the US and Europe. It smells quite good; similar to the reform in the pastel geometric box. Available online for about $45. I have a sample if you would like one :)

  11. Please bring back Aviance Night Musk. That is the only perfume I have ever worn and can't find anything else I like. I never get comments on how good my perfume smells anymore. I use to only pay $15 for it, bring it back at a higher cost and I will still buy it!

  12. Please bring back Aviance Night Musk. That is the only perfume I have ever worn. I can't find anything similar or anything I really like. I never get comments on any of the new purfumes I have worn since I ran out of Aviance Night Musk. I always got comments on Aviance Night Musk, even strangers would ask me what I was wearing. I use to pay $15 for it but willing to pay more, just not $350.00 on the internet sites.

  19. They don't really care about us. It's about frustrating, not helping. And, of course, the money.
